My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Veronica!

Sweet little Veronica and her bonded sister Betty are looking for their fur-ever home together where they can get all the gentle pets and snacks they desire!

These girls love their daily fresh veggies and naps in their various hidey-holes. They love to greet their people with excited squeaks first thing in the morning but soon quiet down, and will happily accept gentle pets on the head.

Guinea pigs require some specific care and enclosure requirements to keep them healthy and happy. Please do some research about proper care prior to applying, but please let us know if you have questions!

If you are interested in adopting Betty and Veronica, please submit an application to the Shuswap branch through the link below!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
