My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Marble
I gather several other stray cats feel just as confused and unsure of their future as I am. I am a 4-year-old female tabby. Obviously, I have had an owner because I am spayed. But I cannot tell you how long I have fended for myself. Just after Christmas a kind man brought me to the HSHC when he found me roaming Noblesville. Despite my struggles, I`ve shown resilience. Because I weigh 17.5 lbs. I have been finding food to eat, albeit unhealthy food. Not long after I arrived, I had a little panic attack in my apartment because housekeeping was cleaning the apartment above me. How embarrassing. I`ve become a little braver since then. Today, I met with the interviewer lady (IL). I was snoozing in my Kasa when she opened the door. She was very polite and did not insist on my talking with her. However, she gently petted my head, and when I closed my eyes, she scratched my chin and ears. I stretched with pleasure and encouraged her to continue rubbing my neck and shoulders. If I could have lain on my back, I might have asked for a chest rub! The IL told me I was a sugar lump and would probably be a cuddly girl with the right gentle owner. I will probably need more time to get used to a new home than you might think. But if you treat me with patience and love, I know I will love you forever. 2-4-25

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
