My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Excuse me! Are you searching for someone that will always be excited when you arrive home or someone who is excited by the pure delight of seeing you at all times? Your search is over, my name is Blu and I would love to welcome you home daily. I’m a 18 month old mixed breed female, weighing 48 lbs. I was surrendered by my family in early 2025 due to no fault of my own.
I’ve been living with my foster mom, dad, brother, and fur siblings for just over two months. I recommend everyone check out my yelp review on their home, I give it a 5 Star rating. They have been helping me with becoming more confident as I missed out when I was puppy learning normal puppy socialization and learning to navigate dogs skills like, “stranger danger”. Introductions are ruff for me due to this. All I need is someone who can be patient with me while I adjust to my new surroundings.
My foster mom says I’m the happiest dog. Once I trust you I fall hard and love being around you. I’m always ready to play and no worries if you can’t stop and play with me at all times. I can keep myself busy as I know how to play by myself. I will toss a toy across the room and chase after it. However I really do love to play and rough house with my foster siblings (similar in size). When I’m not busy napping under my foster mom’s desk during the day or playing with my fur siblings, I love to chew on a Benebone or deer antler while I’m cuddled up on the couch.
I’m fully potty trained, re-call when I’m told to come in the house, I know how to sit, shake, and settle. I’m working on learning to lay down and being more confident when out for a walk. I’m ok with cats and I would do best in a mature home with 2-3 people. With the temps getting warmer I would love to be able to enjoy a fenced in yard where we can enjoy the outside together. Life is Ruff but I’m Pawsome. Apply for me at SandiPaws.org let's explore life together

A successful adoption depends on the selection of the right pet for your household and your understanding of your responsibility of adopting a rescued animal. Our adoption procedures have been designed to make sure all rescued Sandi Paws pets are placed in an appropriate, loving forever home, and to make sure all adopters find the right fit for their family. Prior to adoption, all dogs and cats will be given all age-appropriate vaccinations, including rabies, kennel cough, parvo and distemper, spaying/neutering, intestinal deworming, heartworm testing/treatment, microchipping, and monthly heartworm medication and flea prevention.

Note: We will adopt pets outside of Wisconsin if we can do necessary background and reference checks and the adopters agree to provide necessary follow up information. Also, the adopting family must agree to travel to pick up the pet and agree to transport them back to Wisconsin if they need to be returned at any time.
