My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Maple Walnut! Maple is the sweetest girl with gorgeous amber eyes and a goofy personality. She has come a long way from being abandoned in Georgia but she's taking on NYC with stride! She loves people, treats, smelling all the smells in the park, but most of all cuddles. Maple is fully housetrained. She sleeps through the night and for a lot of the day. Although the would be the happiest cuddled up next to you all day, she'll enjoy her peanut butter fillerd-kong while you go to work and welcome you back with the best wiggly nub. Maple has no signs of resource guarding and takes treats from your hand gently on her hind legs like a penguin. She is super food motivated so any kind of training should be a breeze. Don't miss the chance to add this gorgeous sweetheart to your home!

3 Keywords for Maple: Sweet, affectionate, cuddly

My foster dog is good with: Dogs. She has not been tested with cats and kids but does not jump up on people.

My foster dog is: Housetrained, ok in the crate/confined space, low shed

Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 3

Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: She will cry for attention occasionally and barks when she gets overly excited.

Walking Manners: She is still learning how to walk on a leash - loves all the city smells and used to pull to say hi to all people and dogs. With treats, she's learning to focus on the handler and keep close. Since she loves attention and treats, in no time she'll be walking on a leash like a pro!

Appetite: LOVES food

Commands/Tricks: knows Sit, Let's go, No and Down (work in progress). Food motivated so will learn all the commands quite fast.

ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.

Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States
