My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Max is being fostered in Hawarden Iowa

Meet Max!!!!  This ADORABLE little guy was found as a stray and a shelter reached and asked us if we could take him.  He evaluated perfectly and has been quite the little gentleman in his foster home.  He is a Mini American Shepherd or mini Australian Shepherd depending on who you ask.  He is a black tri that weighs 24lbs and is about 8 years old.

Max is being fostered with many other dogs and cats, but he likes to chase the cats a little too much, so we think a home without the cats might be best. Max doesn't love his crate and will howl when in it at first, but then he will settle.  He is crate and potty trained.  He is kenneled during the day while his foster parents are at work.

Max is a total sweetheart!  He is also a typical velcro Aussie and wants to be near his people.  He would make an excellent sidekick for someone!  Wanna traveling buddy, he is your guy!  Want to go for walks?  He is your guy.  Work from home and need an office assistant?  He is your guy! Want to hang out an watch a movie?  He is your guy!  Like camping and hiking?  He is your guy!  This little compact boy can be just about anything his human wants him to be.

Max is neutered, has had a dental, bloodwork, vaccinations, microchipped, negative for all tick borne diseases and has been on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.

Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.

NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org

Additional adoption info

Meeting any dog within MASR requires an approved adoption application on file. We process as quickly as possible via volunteers. Then connect an applicant one at a time with a dog and foster home to arrange a meet and greet. If all parties at the meet and greet, including the dog, are in agreement that it is a good fit, the dog goes home that day.
