This is Bandit. He belonged to my beloved Aunt and Uncle, Russell “Hendy” Henderson and Valerie Henderson, who are now both deceased. Bandit was more than a pet to them—he was a cherished family member and a source of immense comfort after the devastating losses of their grandson in 2021 and their son in 2022. Their wish was for me to care for Bandit, and it breaks my heart to admit that I am not in a position to keep him. My home, with a cat-aggressive pet and an already strained environment, would not provide the peaceful, loving life he deserves.

Bandit is an affectionate, social lap cat who thrives on companionship. He is chatty, food-motivated, and endlessly entertaining, with a particular love for birdwatching from the safety of indoors—a wish my Aunt and Uncle always honored to keep him safe. While he may do best as the only cat in the household, he has so much love to give. My Aunt and Uncle were passionate advocates for cats, helping ferals and finding homes for countless kittens. Their legacy lives on through Bandit, who now needs someone to show him the same love and care they gave so freely.

Bandit has lost everything he’s ever known, and he deserves kindness. Please, take the time to sit with him, talk to him, and let him know he’s still loved.

Bandit is incredibly important to our family, and we would greatly hope—but do not expect—that his adopters will stay in touch and provide occasional updates about him.
