My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

BINKY was saved and cared for by Muscat Dog Adoption, before sending him with other saved dogs to Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine. They arrived in the US on 28th January 2025 and were transported to the rescue where they are settling in.

BINKY was cleared by the US canine center for diseases upon entry into the US. He is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 43 pounds and has an estimated date of birth or 7 April 2022.

BINKY's story is that he was  rescued in June 2023 with his mum, Geyran who came to the US at the same time as him. Binky was born on the streets and with his mum and siblings lived as a happy and friendly neighbourhood dog for about one year until they were all targeted and shot. Binky & his mum survived, sadly his siblings did not. Binky was shot in the throat, and genital area. Luckily the wounds were superficial but the bullet in his throat was not removed because it was lodged in so deeply.

Binky and mum Geyran were taken to a wonderful Omani lady who cared for them until they were lucky enough to come to the US. They spent most of the time in large crates where they could stretch and stand up and were taken out to do their business and short walks. Twice a week volunteers would go and take all the dogs out on longer walks.

Stray dogs in Oman are referred to as "Wadi Dogs" and are a mix of the popular sighthound breeds, specifically thought to be descendents of the majestic Saluki and other smaller breeds, many resembling whippets with their small agile frames. If not saved these dogs are often shot or brutally ran over and left for dead.

We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.

BINKY is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $300, as noted he is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this sweet boy.

Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received.

More about this rescue

Founded by Jenny an English woman who found her way to Texas on 14th February 2011 in San Antonio, Texas we saved dogs from the high kill shelters in Texas.

In July 2015, Jenny relocated herself and the rescue to the beautiful state of Maine, it's weather and people much like that of her home in Northern England.

We still save dogs from the high kill shelters in Texas where dogs have just 3 days to be saved. We vet them, they have veterinary examination and are issued with health certificates and then transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine.
