Travis breaks our hearts. He expects so little, yet he appreciates everything. A gentle pet, a tiny treat and being close. Every time we pass by his kennel, he’s just lying there, looking like the saddest dog on the planet. And honestly? We don’t blame him. This gentle senior came in as a stray, but he looks like he once had a home. He should be spending his golden years resting comfortably on a soft dog bed, not in an overcrowded, loud, and stressful shelter. He deserves peace, kindness, and love.

*Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL

*The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID.

*All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs.

*Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
