Morris Claus was adopted out in Dec 2024 by a small city-run shelter. Unfortunately, the adoption was not a fit and he was thrown out in the cold to fend for himself. A previous FHS adopter heard him crying for 3 days before she was able to find him. She reached out to a foster to help as surely this cat wasn't going to survive through the snow storm we had coming. Little did she know the cat had a disability, as well, and the snow & the steep embankment behind her condo was a recipe that would have lead to the end of his story. Thankfully, FHS took him in, had bloodwork done to ensure he is a healthy boy, and now he is ready for adoption.
Morris Claus is a special needs cat and can be a complete love bug on his own terms. He has Ataxia (neurological issues) and will need an experienced cat owner with some patience to continue to work with him and accept his disability and the quirks that come with it. He also can play a little rough so would not be a good fit for young children.
Ataxia describes poor muscle control that causes clumsy movements. It can affect walking and balance, hand coordination, speech and swallowing, and eye movements.
Approx DOB 12/01/2023
