My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet soul is Izzy. She is a 5 yr old Australian Shepherd Mix (possibly hound in there?) who is a gentle and calm dog. She is quite timid until you get to know her, and a bit more timid and vocal with males overall, but being patient with her is so worth it.

Izzy is most content when she gets to be by your side. She does well in a crate but tends to cry when her foster family is out of sight, she just wants to be part of everything! She gets along well with other dogs. The children in her foster home completely adore her and her calm nature and she is good with them. She is house/crate trained but not fond of crate.

Izzy is current on all vaccinations, heart worm tested neg., microchipped and spayed. To apply to adopt this sweet soul visit our website and fill out an application.

We require an adoption application to be filled out. www.handsofhoperescue.com/adoptapp We will interview all potential adopters and set up a home visit. We will do reference checks and make sure this is the right dog for you. A final contract will then be signed by adopter.

More about this rescue

We are a new rescue, we are working on our 501C3, have our Kansas State Tax Exempt status and will have Federal soon. We save dogs from Kansas and surrounding states that are set for euthanization, are in high kill shelters, or are surrendered by owners who cannot keep them anymore. We are FOSTER HOME BASED ONLY and do not have a kennel, so all of the dogs we take are kept in a home to be loved by a foster family. We are a group of people who want to make a difference once dog at a time.
