My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dutch Bro!

Dutch came to us from Bonita Shelter after being there for over a year waiting to be adopted. He's young by Frosted Faces standards - only around 7 years old - but he's a sweet soul who deserves a forever family.

On the day Dutch became a Frosted Face, he was chosen for a two-week Frosted Fling! We are thrilled he is receiving lots of love and pampering in the comforts of a home.

His Fling Mom shared this update:

"Dutch is the sweetest boy. He is loving, playful, and absolutely acts younger than his years. He loves to play, adores stuffed animals, and is a great cuddler. He is not a barker, but will occasionally chat in the most endearing deep baritone.

Dutch is fantastic with my dogs. They are both large dogs, and he adapts well to each one's personality and boundaries. He has done really well around small dogs as well, but those interactions have always been leashed.

Large amounts of commotion and loud noises spook Dutch. He doesn’t bolt but usually freezes. I think he would do best in a house with another dog. Dutch definitely has more confidence when he is in a pack versus when I take him out on his own.

Dutch has been really good around everyone of all ages. He doesn’t react differently to men or women. I don’t think he would be a good fit in a home with small children because he is very mouthy.

Dutch picked up the doggie door quickly, and when he has been left inside on his own, we haven’t had any accidents.

Dutch and I hang out at the park while we wait for my daughter to finish up at soccer practice. He is SO good. No pulling on his leash - just a lot of walking and sniffing.

Dutch plays a lot with my dogs and is always wanting to play. I think after so much time in the shelter, he had a lot of energy to release. It was non-stop for about the first two weeks. Now Dutch is settling into a good routine, and playtime is interspersed with naps and lounging.

I came home from a trip last night. and I had really missed my pups. The general greeting from all the pups is chaotic, but last night Dutch’s welcome home was calm. He rubbed against me, followed me to my room, hopped on the bed, and crawled in my lap for a belly rub. I needed that, and he knew it.

Adopt Dutch, and you will get a crazy, goofy ball of pure love."
