My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gorgeous Akari was running the streets of Stockton in June. Both were picked up by animal control and taken to the Stockton shelter. Neither were microchipped and their owner(s) did not come in to claim them. By August and with only 15 minutes to spare, Akari was saved from euthanasia.

In Japanese, Akari, which means "Light" and the name fits her well. Her foster mom has nothing but high praise for her. "She's definitely a special girl with unlimited potential. I'm excited to work with her and see how much she will do".

Akari is housebroken, crate trained, is great with people of all ages, and good with male dogs. She would be super companion for someone or a family who is active as she loves to go on walks and hikes.

Akari is great with male dogs and loves to run and play with her playful male foster sibling. She would love a playful male companion to pal around with.
