My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mama Cass was brought into the rescue so pregnant that we didn't feel right spaying her. She gave birth to her babies two weeks later and successfully raised all 6 of them! She was an excellent mama to her babies and is now ready find her own forever home. She is a relaxed girl. She gets along with other cats. She's wary of dogs, but she has learned to accept her foster dog sister as the large annoying presence that she is. Cassie, as she is affectionately known, is an incredibly patient cat, especially with children. She is quiet and polite. She does her own thing mostly and is happy to accept pets and love when you are ready. She has a calming presence about her, very zen. When you are stressed, she is an excellent listener. She will stare into your eyes and really care about you the whole time you talk, and she never judges. She creates peace in a room just by being in it.

The only thing she's not calm about is food. Cassie is a voracious eater and has gained quite a bit of weight in foster care. Most mothers require a lot of food to keep themselves nourished and producing lots of milk for their littles. Since she had a larger litter, her foster mom free-fed her. However, Cassie doesn't know when to stop and has become rather chubby. She will need regulated meals to get her back to her normal weight, and she will never be a cat that can be free-fed.

Cassie is so easy-going, she will fit well into almost any home, but her ideal one would have a person who enjoys spending time watching a movie, reading a book, or playing video games with her on your lap the entire time. Maybe a couple movies. Her naps tend to last several hours.

Meet the available cats and kittens at the Petco in California MD on Saturdays 10-2 and Sundays 11-3 or at the Meow Dyer Cat Cafe in Leonardtown MD.
