My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet Rosie round gal is ready to be your BEST friend!

Rosie is patiently awaiting her furver home where she can be loved and doted on for all her days!
This girl may be a bit chunky, but that just means there is more of her to love. She lives for belly rubs!

Rosie LOVES her people, and really bonds to those she sees the most! She is a very loving and dedicated companion, and cant wait to shower you with her kisses and hugs, and hopes to sneak into your lap for the ultimate cuddle session. Rosie did take a bit of time to warm up to us however, as she did come from a property where she was alone with her sister Peach for some time.
With lots of Positive Reinforcement (and hotdogs and cheese) the initial fear subsided. Rosie does still have her moments of being unsure, so would love an experienced home to guide her in the right direction!

She loves her sister Peach VERY much, and does well with her and the dynamic between them. However we have noticed she has a tendency to resource guard toys with her sister, which Peach gives up to Rosie, but this dynamic may not work with a pre existing dog. She would adore going home to an experienced home, or even with sweet Peach!!!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
