My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, my name is Mason and I'm looking for my forever home. I was born and raised in a loving foster home, but as adaptable as I am, I still need a patient family to help me feel comfortable in my new surroundings. I have to admit, change can be a bit scary for me, so I'll need some time to adjust to my new life. But I promise you, once I feel at ease, I'll reveal my sweet and loving personality. My big, beautiful eyes are just one of the things that will melt your heart, and I promise to charm you every day. As a playful little explorer, I love to investigate my surroundings and discover new things. I also enjoy quiet moments, just sitting next to you and soaking up all the pets and affection you'll give me. There's nothing better than a cozy cuddle session with my favorite human. As I've been raised with my four lovely sisters, I'm still getting used to the idea of meeting new friends. I'm open to making new friends, including kids or dogs, if you are. However, I do need a patient home that will help me feel comfortable and confident in my new environment. I'm just the sweetest boy you'll ever meet, and I'm eager to find a loving home to share my love and companionship with. If you're willing to give me the time and patience I need, I promise to fill your life with joy and purrs. Will you be the one to help me come out of my shell and find my forever home? More about this rescue

Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. FRAs was founded in 2004 by 4 volunteers who wanted to support the Rowlett Animal Shelter. Our organization has grown to over 300 volunteers, and with this growth, we now support two municipal shelters -- Rowlett, TX and Garland, TX – and operate our own cat rescue program.

Our mission is to provide resources, programs and education to promote adoption and care of homeless pets in our community. FRAs’ vision is a world where every companion animal has a safe and loving forever home. We are a 100% all volunteer run organization, and our ability to help homeless animals depends on donations from the community and grant funding.

Our organizational programs include operating the volunteer program for both shelters, providing funding for heartworm treatments and emergency medical care, accepting cats from the shelter and citizens into our foster-based cat rescue, supporting TNR/SNR efforts for community cats and most recently funding dog transport initiatives. Our volunteers spend thousands of hours socializing and marketing the animals for adoption, which increases the number of animals with a positive outcome. FRAs has helped countless pets avoid euthanasia, find their forever homes and live longer, healthier lives.
