My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Otis came to National Brussels Griffon Rescue as an owner surrender because his owner’s health made him unable to care for Otis any longer. Otis is a big boy weighing in at about 28 lbs. The good thing about his size is that there is more of him to love! This boy was a little skittish at first but settled in quickly at his foster home. He is very loving and affectionate and happy to be showered with attention and belly rubs. He follows his foster parents from room to room – keeping tabs on them at all times!
So far Otis has rarely barked at anyone or anything. He gets along well with other dogs who have visited his foster family. He is very dependable on his housebreaking – although he may have a mistake or two when he goes to a new home. Otis walks well on a harness/leash – however he does need more practice and training on this as he is quite afraid when cars go by – but he loves going for a long walk at the beach!
Otis has been sleeping in his own bed next to his foster parents bed and he sleeps all night quietly and peacefully. He is clearly a good eater! He does fine when his foster family is out for errands – he is especially attached to his foster dad and can be a little whiney if dad is out of sight – but he is affectionate with his foster mom also.
We checked his DNA as we suspected he is not all griff and it came out that he is 78.7% Brussels Griffon, 14.5% Bichon Frise and 6.8% Shih Tzu.
Otis is up-to-date on his vaccines, neutered and heartworm negative. He takes heartworm preventative and he is microchipped. Otis is being fostered in Biddeford, ME.
