My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Like most of our bunnies Louise had a rough start - but she has blossomed into a happy house rabbit! Shortly after Louise was rescued (after being dumped outside with another bunny) she gave birth to three babies, but unfortunately none of them survived. Then, her foster mom noticed a white streak in one of her eyes. The vet diagnosed her with E. cuniculi, a parasitic infection that is common in rabbits, and it was determined that the eye should be removed as the infection was possibly located there. After the eye was removed Louise was treated for E. cuniculi, and the disease went dormant and has remained that way ever since. (It is estimated that 50-80% of rabbits carry EC in their system, and most will live out their lives without showing any symptoms.) To be on the safe side Louise will need a blood test every couple of years, but she is overall a healthy and happy bunny!

Louise is sweet, friendly and curious. She knows her name and will come when called. She loves to be petted, especially on her head and cheeks. She will jump on the couch to see what you’re doing, but she won’t stay there for long! She loves to explore, and would probably do best in a home where she can have a lot of free roam time. Louise is a great litter box user, as well as a great hay eater! She also likes all kinds of greens. She is an active chewer so will need a steady supply of chew sticks and palm plates. She enjoys the company of her humans, and she is also fond of the cats in the home. Louise is eager to find a permanent position as house rabbit to a loving family.

We adopt to indoor homes only! If you are interested in adopting a bunny from Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions, or would like more information on rabbit care, please visit our website at: http://www.orlandorabbit.org. The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adoption application, which can be found here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/55856/generic . Then one of our volunteers will reach out to you via email to schedule a time to speak with you. If you don’t see the email in a day or two, please check your spam folder!

Our Adoption Fee/Donation for a single rabbit is $100, a pair is $170, and a triple is $200. This helps to offset the cost of having the rabbits altered, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as any medical care that may have been required.

Additional adoption info

For those that want to bond a new rabbit with an existing rabbit, we conduct bonding events where the home rabbit can meet several rabbits to find a potential match. We work with the adopting family to help ensure that the rabbits bond. We take back the adoptive rabbit if there is not a match.

Our adoption agreement specifies that we will take any adopted rabbit back, should the home situation change in the future.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster-based rescue where our available animals are kept in private homes.

You can see our rabbits online, then make an appointment to meet the rabbit(s) you select.

From time-to-time, we conduct adoption events where you can meet multiple rabbits. Because of RHDV2, these events have been paused.

More about this rescue

We are a rescue and educational group dedicated to the health, care and enjoyment of house rabbits. We believe that pet rabbits are family members and should be housed indoors, should be fed a healthy diet, should be spayed or neutered, and should receive quality medical care. Our organization strives to provide bunny parents with information to help them care for their rabbit.
