Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Whiskey!
Whiskey is a charming French Bulldog who joined our rescue after being found as a stray in Huntington Beach, California. Although the shelter reported he had aggressive tendencies, we’ve discovered he’s an absolute sweetheart with zero aggression. If you were in a kennel with several other humans wouldn’t you get annoyed? Whiskey gets along beautifully with other dogs and enjoys spending time with his foster siblings, whether they’re playing or soaking up the sun.
What We Love About Whiskey:
• Great Listener: Whiskey is learning commands quickly and listens very well.
• Well-Mannered: He sits patiently for treats, waits politely for his meals, and adores getting his booty scratched.
• Potty Trained: No accidents in his crate, whether overnight or while you’re out during the day.
• Social & Playful: Though he might need a slow introduction to new doggy siblings, Whiskey enjoys companionship and is a happy, playful guy. He does like to step back from playing and bask in the sun or get love from his foster mama.
A Few Things to Note:
• Whiskey was recently neutered and is improving on his humping behavior, which should continue to subside.
We prefer Whisky be in a home as the only dog, or a super submissive female, also does not like bigger dogs. He will require ongoing training after his adoption.
• He might experience mild anxiety in new situations, so a smooth and steady transition will help him feel at ease. The “3-3-3 rule” (3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn routines, and 3 months to feel at home) will apply to him.
• Whiskey is a healthy boy but requires regular care to keep him in top shape. He’s prone to some yeastiness, so cleaning his ears and paws regularly is a must. He’s currently on a salmon probiotic to support his skin and coat health.
Whiskey is still getting settled in, and while we’re learning more about his personality, one thing is clear: he’s ready for a forever home that will provide him with love, structure, and belly rubs galore. If you’re looking for a loyal and loving companion who will bring joy to your life, Whiskey is your guy!
