Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chunky is a sweet 10-year old male kitty who was brought to HSOV on January 9, 2025 by a Good Samaritan who had found Chunky lying on a snow bank alongside State Route 821 in the Marietta Ohio. Thankfully that compassionate individual picked Chunky up and transported him to the safety of our shelter .. which most likely saved Chunky's life.
Chunky has a black-and-white short smooth coat, a long tail, and (in our eyes) a beautiful serene-looking face with golden eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers.
This senior citizen has a rugged-looking outward appearance and seems to have fallen on bad times .. But his 'guardian angel' was surely looking out for him, and he is now in a warm blanket-filled room with plenty of good food and fresh clean water.
Chunky was given vaccinations, Drontal wormer, and flea treatment on January 11, 2025. He weighed 7.7 lbs that day. Chunky was combo tested on January 21, 2025 and was negative for feline leukemia and heartworm, but he tested positive for FIV [Feline Immunodeficiency Virus].
We are listing Chunky as a 'Special Needs Kitty' for that reason but we prefer to think of him as merely very special for so many other reasons. A vigilant pet owner who treats secondary infections can assist an FIV-infected cat to live a reasonably long life. The chances that an FIV-infected cat will pass the virus to other cats within a household are slim to none if no serious fighting or biting occurs.
These photos of Chunky were taken on January 9, 2025 shortly after his arrival. Chunky was quite content to continue his catnap and relax after his ordeal/rescue. He appears to have a gentle, easygoing personality.
If Chunky is not reclaimed, we will have him neutered and find him a fabulous home where he will be loved and cherished to his heart's content.
Happy Update: Chunky was neutered on February 14, 2025 and was adopted that same day.
