My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Miss Maple! My name comes from two things -- the lovely warm color of my golden fur as well as my sweet-as-syrup personality. I was transferred from a shelter to make room for the cats who have been displaced by the wildfires in California. Not much is known about my history, but I am about 6 1/2 years old, female, spayed, and healthy. I was declawed and have a little bit of paw sensitivity because of that. Please be gentle with my paws or I will let you know they are tender. I was very stressed out being sheltered with other cats, but I love my own space and I am very calm and happy being an only cat. I am a good eater and I am impeccable with the litter box. I am a very clean kitty and take extra care with my grooming. I love lots of pets and brushes and cuddles and snuggles. I enjoy sitting high up on the cat tree, keeping an eye on all the activities in the neighborhood. I am learning how to play and have lots of fun chasing balls and catnip mice. My golden eyes show you how happy I am and you will melt when you look into them. I am so ready to find my furever home that is peaceful and safe. I will give you lots of love and purrs. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
