Sophie Mae is a 9-year old female kitty who was surrendered to HSOV on December 15, 2024 with her best friend Ollie for a very sad reason .. Their mistress (who had loved them dearly) was in hospice care and could no longer take care of her beloved cats .. And she passed away a few days later knowing that Sophie and Ollie were safely in our shelter and would be loved by our kennel techs and eventually would find another special someone to give them a good home.
Sophie Mae has a brown tabby medium-haired coat with a large patch of white on her chest, a long fluffy tail, and a beautiful face with golden eyes, nice 'ear furnishings', a brown velvet nose and long white whiskers. Her birthday is July 5, 2015.
Sophie Mae has a friendly, rather demure, personality.
Sophie Mae was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on December 15, 2024. She is a petite little lady who weighed 6 lbs that day. Sophie was given booster vaccines on December 29, 2024.
These photos of Sophie Mae were taken on January 4, 2025. Thanks to HSOV Kennel Tech Rachel Elizabeth for lovingly holding Sophie in her arms for pictures of her beautiful face. Sophie was a very frightened little girl in her cage but, thanks to Rachel's gentle touch, she was able to relax and feel safe with her. We look forward to the day when we can take Sophie Mae's glamour photos in our 'studio' with her soulmate Ollie.
Sophie Mae has not yet been spayed, so she will be spayed in the near future (tentatively in late January 2025) after being examined by a veterinarian to ensure that she can safely undergo the procedure since she is technically a 'senior citizen'.
Sophie Mae and Ollie are being listed as a Bonded Pair since we feel that it is in their best interest to be adopted together. Sophie Mae especially depends upon Ollie for a sense of comfort/security. They are sharing a small cage and are truly soulmates. And with all longtime couples, Sophie Mae can be a bit sassy with Ollie if he's doing something to annoy her. Thanks to HSOV Lead Feline Kennel Tech Lauryn Hamilton for that observation (smile).
Sophie Mae and Ollie are litterbox trained, and they get along with other cats.
Note: Ollie and Sophie Mae went home with a foster mother on February 5, 2025 so that they may enjoy a real home environment instead of a shelter cat tower. They are still available for adoption.
