Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a
question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If
interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/.
Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file.Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance from Landenberg, PA for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit.
Meet Andy! Andy is a 14-year-old, 15 lb. Bichon mix who was surrendered when his owner could no longer care for him. We lovingly welcomed him into our rescue.
Andy is super friendly and good with dogs and children. He received a dental with us and had a few benign lumps removed. Andy has good hearing and vision and wears a belly band if his foster mom will be gone for more than a few hours. He can handle stairs and walks well on a leash. Andy is good with being picked up and will eat wet or dry food. He is fine doing his own thing, but also enjoys cuddling in bed with his foster mom.
Andy was crate trained in his last home and would be fine without a yard. He loves being with people and would enjoy having someone around a lot of the day. If you need an adorable, easy-going pup, please apply!

The goal of Senior Dog Haven & Hospice is to find the best home possible for our senior dogs. To assist us in this endeavor, SDH&H requires a fully completed application, references, and a visit to your home by one of our trained volunteers. For this reason we only process applications within a reasonable commute from the dog's foster home.
Our adoption fee is $200, however we offer a discounted rate of $150 for senior adopters over the age of 65.

More about this rescue
We are a small, dedicated group of fosters and volunteers. We strive to improve the lives of senior dogs who find themselves without a family to care for them anymore. We do not have a facility. Our dogs live in our homes as members of our families. We provide care, comfort, companionship and, most of all, unconditional love. We have worked in senior rescue for years, and see the continuing and growing need to get them out of shelters where they are often euthanized because of their age and/or medical reasons, or from owners that find themselves in crisis and no longer able to care for their companions (nursing home, illness, abusive situations, etc).
Senior Dog Haven and Hospice is a registered 501(c)3. All donations to our rescue are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
