Freya was hit by a car at 5 months old and relinquished to rescue because the owners could not afford to repair her. She had a broken back femur which received a pin and a plate to put it back together.
She received optimal care and nutrition in her foster home and healed wonderfully!! The day after she arrived in the foster home a three month old Australian Shepherd entered the foster home. She was very perplexed by this other puppy would not run around and play with her. As a compromise, the Australian Shepherd, named Fidget, decided to lay on the ground and play with her in the fashion that Freya was able to play while her leg healed. An amazing bond formed between the two of them And they have been completely inseparable ever since. Freya Is an extremely low-key puppy who will likely be the dog alpha in her forever home. She will share her food and toys with Fidget, but not with any of the other dogs in the house. Their other buddy is a large male German Shepherd, who is a permanent resident in the foster home— there is a lot of dog wrestling between these three! Freya has healed very well, confirmed with xray, and absolutely loves time out in the backyard playing with the others. She loves the cold weather and the snow. She also loves the water bucket and would probably love swimming! She was constantly in the water bucket in the warmer months standing in it and playing in it!
Freya has done great with all of the children she has met, super gentle, and very easy for them to be around. She is an extraordinary anatolian, so calm, so gentle, with noises like Chewbacca ! Looking for a fenced home for these two, they are not happy when they are separated, and they will need to be adopted together as it is their happiness in life that is the goal of this rescue. Both puppies are very low-key and very easy to take care of in the home. House trained, crate trained, and vetting is up-to-date. They are not the typical crazy puppies that may give you nightmares, they are a wonderful duo that will make your jaw drop in amazement just watching them work together and be so completely manageable and enjoyable. email Irondawgs13@gmail.com for adoption application

We welcome all adopters, all experience of ownership levels, all ages above 21 years old for primary adopters, but most of all....everyone who has love to give and a home to share! There is a required adoption application so that we can make sure this is a good match for both the humans and the dog, and upon adoption approval, there is a contract. The adoption fee covers the pet's animal shelter release fee, vet check, spay or neuter, shots, heartworm test, vet records, leash, collar and transport. The fee slightly varies depending on vet needs for each individual
