Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
A few months ago, one of our volunteers found Hope hiding in someone’s yard - skinny, flea ridden with patchy fur and so scared, yet seemed to secretly be wanting help 🥺 It was clear that she had been dumped. She caught her, got her cleaned up and into a cozy foster home to start her journey.
Sadly, she had been overbred and was heartworm positive 💔 it was clear that Hope had not had a wonderful life, but we were determined to change that.
Hope settled right in with a house full of dogs 🐕 One thing dumped breeder dogs have in common is that they all LOVE dogs ☺️ Hope is a much healthier girl now. She has been spayed, completed heartworm treatment and is ready for her new life to begin.
She is most comfortable with other dogs and having a fenced yard and requires those things in her forever home. She is definitely a flight risk and needs someone who is confident in keeping her safe. She is not a dog that can ever get out a door. We will help provide the tools to keep her safe though.
She loves women, but is nervous with men and children. Hope is shy, but still playful, and loves the finer things in life like blankets, pillows, beds and couches - the things she never had ❤️
If you can give Hope the peaceful loving home that she needs, please complete an adoption application or email us if you have one on file. Hope is in St. Petersburg and her adoption fee is $400. She is about 3 years old and 50lbs.

We are a non-breed specific dog rescue group, although we do tend to take in mostly large and extra-large breeds, and especially those in the hunting / sporting groups.
Love for Paws exists to protect and advocate for dogs in our community through responsible adoption, the donation of supplies and veterinary care to those in need, by assisting in the effort to limit the overpopulation of these animals and by promoting kindness and healthy opportunity for life.
