Meet Sugar and Spice, two roly-poly balls of fluff eagerly awaiting their forever family. Sugar is the more laid-back of the duo - a sweet, plump little pup content to cuddle up for a cozy nap. She may be quieter than her sister, but don't let that fool you - this cutie knows she's got it going on! When playtime rolls around, Sugar comes alive, romping and wrestling with Spice in a whirlwind of puppy energy. Her pudgy face and petite snout only add to her irresistible charm.
Spice, on the other hand, is the chatty gal of the pair. This tiny wolf-like pup, with her longer husky nose, thrives on attention and affection. She'll gladly let her sister push her around if it means more cuddle time with her favorite humans! Clever as can be, Spice is always hot on your heels, ready for the next adventure. While their personalities are still blossoming, one thing's for sure - these precious pups are overflowing with love to give.

If an animal is listed in foster care please call the shelter at (512) 549-5160 so we can assist you in making arrangements to meet the pet. Once you have found the animal you are wanting to adopt, or have made the decision to come to the shelter, please fill out our adoption application and bring it with you.

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
