My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 3 months
Weight: 7 kg / 15.4 lbs

While Maisy remains the smallest (not by much), she is the mightiest of the triplets! She is brave, adventurous, trusting, affectionate and fearless. She loves to be near her humans but prefers to constantly engage her littermates in physical play at all points of the day (besides nap time) instead of exploring a variety of toys although she is getting much better. Her tail is always wagging, her eyes are always sparkling and her paw extended to let you know that she is ready for love. Maisy is more than willing to take breaks from rough housing, though, if it means that she gets more snuggle time. Maisy is not easily startled or frightened and adjusting very well to the many sights, sounds and smells of her new surroundings. Initially, she was considerably more vocal than her littermates especially during greetings but as she as settled in, she seems to know that licks and not barks get more of a positive response. Whether she be named after the flower or the jewel of the sea, with proper training and patience for this breed, Maisy is destined to be a welcomed addition to any lucky family.

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
