My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A24687 Ares is a black brindle with some white colored, approximately 7-month-old, 76-pound, neutered male, Cane Corso.
He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 01-08-2025 due to the fact he just moved here for college and lives in an apartment.
Ares is a friendly, high-energy boy here at the shelter. Our staff describes him as a big strong, sweet boy with good manners. You have to be ready when you open the kennel door because he will try and rush by you to get out and explore. They say you can tell his previous owner gave him some training and it stuck. He will “sit” “stay” and “shake” upon command. He was easy to leash and if you tell him to sit, he will do so and wait patiently to have the leash attached. He was easy to walk and well behaved during our walks. The previous owner said he is house broken, used a doggy door and has lived with other dogs, but not children or cats. They did advise he was iffy around kids, because of their small size and he gets nervous around them. But they said he never bit anyone or any kids. He was gentle in every way with our staff, but we do not have kids here. We would recommend an experienced owner only because he is a big strong boy. Ares will be a great companion in his new forever home.
