My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on January 7, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Milo is a little guy with a big heart, trying to find his place in a big world. In his previous home, he was working on potty training and already shows promise as a leash-walking pro. While he takes time to warm up to new people and situations, once he feels safe, Milo is all wiggles and tail wags. Milo prefers to be the only dog in the home and isn't a fan of being left alone for long. He needs a patient family that can understand his body language, especially since he can be particular about how he's picked up. A low-traffic, calm home with children 10 years or older is a must to help Milo decompress and feel secure. With some creativity-whether it's crate training, puppy-proofing, or offering him appropriate chews-you can help Milo feel more at ease when left alone. If you're ready to provide Milo the love, patience, and understanding he needs, bring a leash and collar and make him yours today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
