Max is a friendly and energetic male dog with a big heart and a love for human companionship! In the shelter environment, he has shown himself to be generally social with both people and other dogs. Max is usually calm and easygoing, especially during walks, where he’s full of energy but doesn`t pull excessively. Max loves affection from his humans and is quick to solicit pets! He’s a playful dog, especially when outdoors, where he enjoys chasing toys like a ball. Max has shown to be uncertain of unfamiliar situations and he can be a bit shy around new experiences. Max would appreciate some space while eating or enjoying a high value treat or toy. When meeting other dogs, Max is social and polite. He met another dog while in our care and greeted him with a playful bow, engaging in a brief but friendly sniffing session. While he’s open to socializing, Max does tend to retreat if play becomes too overwhelming, especially when his hips are touched, but he’ll return to engage once he feels comfortable! If adopters have a resident dog at home, we encourage them to bring them to meet Max to ensure everyone is compatible! Max is a sweet, loving dog who would thrive in a home where he can enjoy plenty of attention, gentle handling, and fun playtime with both humans and canine companions. If Max sounds like the right fit for you, come meet him today!
