My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 3 years
Weight: 5.2 kg

Meet Little Dude (aka Sweet Cheeks - because he has the biggest, squishiest cheeks ever) a lovely boy found as a stray. Little Dude spent Christmas in foster, and his foster family tells us that that he is one of the sweetest, cuddliest, chattiest kitty they have ever met. Little Dude spent his first few days hiding in his cat cave, but even at his most nervous, he remained gentle and polite with perfect litter box skills. Once he became comfortable he quickly turned into a chatty boy who will purr and chirp when you chat to him. He`d still appreciate a quiet, patient home to help him adjust - loud noises and busy households may still be a bit too much for this sweetie! Little Dude loves to take long naps in the closet, or curled up on a comfy human, sit on his cat post and watch the world go by, or smack around his catnip scented wool dryer ball. Little Dude would also enjoy harness training or a catio, but given the many healing scratches and wounds he came in with, he`s looking to be an indoor cat from now on! If this chatty, affectionate, story teller is the boy for you, then come meet him!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
