Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Boston, a lively 1-year-old terrier mix who's eager to make your acquaintance. His personality is as big as his heart; he's friendly, sweet, and oh-so-playful. Boston's energy is infectious, and he's always ready for a game of fetch or a fun-filled romp in the park. He's got a goofy side that's sure to make you laugh and a smart side that's quick to learn new tricks. Boston gets along well with other dogs, but he's not the best match for a home with cats. Despite his youthful energy, he also knows when it's time to settle down for a good cuddle. His love and loyalty know no bounds, and he's just waiting for the right person to share it with. Adopting Boston means gaining a loyal friend, a playful companion, and a loving family member. He's ready to start his new life journey, are you ready to start it with him?
Boston is neutered and up to date on all of his core vaccinations and monthly preventatives. He is also microchipped! If you are interested, please stop by or give us a call at 740-314-5583! Give us a call at (740) 314-5583 for more information!
ADOPTION APPLICATION: All adoption applications are completed at the shelter unless otherwise noted.

More about this shelter
We are the Jefferson County Humane Society and , except for our humane officers (who are paid very nominally), we are all volunteers! Our members were instrumental in getting a local levy passed to build a new and larger shelter and the doors opened in 2011. We are currently participating in Iams Home for the Holidays Program and the Purina Pets for People grant program. We are actively pursuing other grants and recently have been asked by the county to partner with them in the operation of the new shelter. Since we are a humane society, our main focus is on getting animals spayed and neutered so there are no more homeless pets. To that end, we bring in a mobile animal surgical clinic who performs spays and neuters at a reduced rate. We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our efforts and, of course, for financial contributions (we are a non-profit, 501 (c)3) and pet adopters! Other items such as food, treats, pet carriers, cages, leashes, collars, food bowls, etc. are also ALWAYS welcomed and appreciated. Please contact us if you have an item to be donated or would like to volunteer with us to try to save some of these homeless, but very loveable, dogs!
