My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lilly arrived with other dogs due to her owner's health issues. They were adopted together but she was returned to us after incidents involving the household cat and an injury to the other dog. Lilly is a sweet girl who will play ball with you for hours, even throwing back to you. She absolutely loves people and is great with children. She would probably do best as the only pet in the home. She would make a great family dog. Apply to adopt Lilly today.

More about this shelter

At the Humane Society of Port Jervis/Deerpark we are passionate about ensuring the protection and welfare of all animals in need. This is the legacy of our founder Robert Kleinstuber, who began the shelter in 1959 as a memorial to his beloved dog, Jeff.

Our mission is to protect and serve animals during their greatest time of need, assist our community pets and their people, and offer homeless pets a second chance at a first-rate life. By providing humane education along with free or low-cost resources, we hope to reduce the homeless pet population in our area.

We currently provide animal control impound services for 10 municipalities in Orange & Sullivan Counties and are proud to provide low-cost spay/neuter clinics, adoption and re-homing services, humane education, and community assistance to the tri-state area.
