My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Aunt Bethany is an 11-year-old Red Heeler with a confident and happy spirit. At 60 lbs, she’s currently working on reaching her ideal weight of 40 lbs, so she’ll need daily walks and a family committed to helping her stay active and healthy.

This mellow lady is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks nicely on a leash. She gets along well with other dogs and even cats, but she values her personal space and prefers that others respect it when she’s relaxing. Aunt Bethany’s favorite pastime is chewing on her toys, and she’ll happily entertain herself with them in between naps.

Aunt Bethany takes daily pain medication to manage arthritis, which helps keep her comfortable and ensures she can enjoy her golden years. Regular vet care and moderate exercise will also support her overall health.

Though she’s a senior, Aunt Bethany still has a playful side that will make you smile. She’s best suited for a family with older kids who understand her need for boundaries. Whether in a home with a yard or an apartment, she’ll thrive as long as she has a cozy spot to call her own and people who understand her unique personality.

If you’re looking for a loyal and quirky companion who will brighten your days, Aunt Bethany is ready to meet her forever family!

Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $100. Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
