Hi, I’m Lovely! I’m a 2-year-old Shih Tzu blend who weighs just 13 lbs. As my name suggests, I’m a sweet gal who will bring love and delight into the life of a lucky family. I know my forever family is out there somewhere! Read on to find out if that could be you.
- General Behavior: Lovely is a lover! This darling girl is a cuddle, kisser, and snuggler, although she’s also independent and curious and can be happy doing her own thing.
- Likes & Dislikes: Lovely loves toys: the more, the merrier!
- Training: Lovely has the makings of a little lady! She is making good progress on house training. She is still warming up to the leash: she gets excited when her foster gets it out, even if she's not entirely sure how to walk with it. She adores going for adventures in the car. She sleeps in the people bed at night.
- Medical: Lovely is a healthy girl! She just needs her monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog.
- Other Animals: Lovely needs to be introduced slowly to other dogs but is fine after a few days. She is particularly good with other dogs who like to play energetically. She hasn't been observed around cats yet, but her foster thinks she'd be OK with them.
- Children: Lovely is good with older, sturdy children (ages 8+), since she has quite a high jump.
- Home: Lovely is not a fan of walking on a leash and would benefit from a home with an enclosed yard to run around. While she can be left alone for awhile, she does prefer to have her people at home as she barks often when left alone.
- Grooming: As a Shih Tzu blend, Lovely will require regular brushing plus professional grooming about every 2 months.
- Overall: Lovely is a wonderful dog who make a great companion for an active family who can raise her, train her, and love her forever.
