Meet the Pet
This helps The Rescue Crew with pet care costs.
Aaron Burr's story is one of love and loss. At 5 years old and 86 pounds, this tall, handsome boy had spent his entire life devoted to one person. But when his beloved owner passed away, Aaron's world was turned upside down. With no family able to take on such a large dog, he found himself in a shelter, confused and heartbroken.
In foster care with our rescue partner, Aaron showed his gentle nature. He lived peacefully alongside both a large and a small dog, proving that he’s adaptable and kind. There was even an infant in the home, and Aaron, with his calm demeanor, simply kept to himself. Despite all he’s been through, Aaron remains a smart and good-hearted dog, just waiting for a place to call home.
Aaron needs a special foster or forever home—one without small children—where he can have the space and time to heal and find his footing again. The energy level and unpredictabe nature of younger kids seems to make him anxious and he also demonstrates a tendency for "stranger danger" at times. Aaron needs a strong and confident leader (person/people) who he can trust and help him know that he is safe and protected. He’s not asking for much, just a quiet place where he can decompress and settle in, surrounded by patience and love.
If you can open your heart and home to Aaron Burr, you’ll be giving this gentle giant the second chance he so desperately deserves. In return, he’ll offer you unwavering loyalty and the kind of love that only comes from a dog who knows the true meaning of loss and is ready to love again.
Please consider fostering or adopting Aaron Burr, and help him find the peace and happiness he’s been missing
He is available thru our Foster to Adopt program currently as well.
How to Become a Foster - THE RESCUE CREW
This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about The Rescue Crew adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our Adoption Process page on our official website.
All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.
The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.
