My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet handsome boy is Jagar. Jagar is a 7-month-old Malinois/Husky mix and weighs approximately 45 lbs. He will likely grow to be 60-70 lbs. when full grown.  Jagar loves everyone he meets. He has a lot of energy, is very intelligent, and wants to please his humans. Jagar would thrive in an active household or maybe as a running buddy. A fenced yard to run in would be ideal. Jagar does excellent with the come, sit and no commands. He also does well with heel if not distracted by the other dogs in his foster home. He is currently working on off, stay and lay down, and doing a little better every day. Jagar does like surfing, the counters that is, which we are currently working on to correct. He is getting better, but the temptation is just too much at times. Jagar also likes to jump up which we are working to correct, but he will need additional work. Jagar walks better on leash when he is the only dog but I am confident with additional training he will master this skill as well. He is very treat motivated and loves to be praised and get rubs. Jagar is doing great with pottying outside, however his foster dad is retired and follows a pretty consistent routine for potty breaks. Although we have been unable to get him to ring the bells for notification, Jagar does go to the door, but does not bark to alert you. He sleeps in a dog bed in his foster parents room at night but would love to sleep in bed with his humans. He will nose you in the morning when it's time to go out, just in case you oversleep. Jagar is doing well with training for his age, but will require time, attention, and continued work with training to grow into an amazing family companion. He gets along well with the dogs in his foster home. We are not sure about cats. Although there are no kids in his foster home, we believe he would do fine with children as he seems to love everyone. Jagar's adoption fee is $300 and covers his neuter, vaccines, microchip registration and heartworm and flea preventatives to date. If you are interested in meeting this sweet, smart and loving boy, Jagar, please apply at www.gfrpets.org/apply/adoptdog.
