My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATED IN WATERLOO, ON
DOB 5 Nov 2023
Microchipped

PennyWise is a sweet, curious, and adventurous little cutey. She's agile and nosey, and loves exploring - sneaking into cupboards or drawers, snooping in your bags, or just finding new spots for a quiet nap. She loves hopping up into window perches, where she looks like a living work of art, while watching the world.

PennyWise has the cutest quirk: she chirps and loves to "sing" her way through the day, whether she’s asking for attention or just humming along during her adventures. Her sweet song and joyful playing are sure to brighten your day. She loves parading around with a freshly-caught toy in her mouth! And lights up when you toss her a toy, sometimes bringing it back near you, as if to say, “Again!” Her favourite playmate is her rescue "sister" Cauldron — they love chasing, exploring, and napping together, even sharing the same food bowl sometimes!

She gets along well with other cats too, and has a big crush on the resident boy cat in her foster home. She’s a shameless flirt trying to win his affection and snuggle with him. As a young cat, she respects the household hierarchy and isn’t dominant. She’s still shy with humans but will lick Churu from your fingers, eat treats from your hand, and let you pet her during mealtime. Asking for human petting is a recent thing, but with patience and food to rewards, she’s learning about gentle human touch.

If PennyWise could talk, she might say: "I’m a bit of a wallflower with humans but a total schmoozer with cats! I’ve got ballerina grace, Olympian energy, a weakness for treats (and catnip), and a heart set on loving my kitty friends!"

PennyWise thrives in the company of other felines! Both she and her rescue "sister" Cauldron are happy, healthy, and adaptable girls who've started to blossom in the laid-back home of their foster family. Now, they are ready to find a forever family where they can continue to bloom. Could it be yours?

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee is $225 per adult cat, and $300 for kittens (under 8 months old).

This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $225.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $175 per cat vs. $225 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
