My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

#A5662725 Meet Shadow ! This 2-year-old German Shepherd is a true stunner, with velvety soft, onyx fur that perfectly matches his name. Shadow is sweet, affectionate, and loves to cuddle, making him the ideal low-energy companion for those cozy nights in. Recently becoming a tripod, he's adapting incredibly well and is determined to keep up with life’s adventures! Shadow is great on leash, super attentive to his person, and bonds quickly. He’s eager to please, already knows the basics like potty training, and could easily learn more still. While he loves all people, he is a little more selective with other pups, so he would best thrive as the only dog in a household where he’s treated like royalty. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving lifetime companion, Shadow is definitely your guy!

  • 2 year old black German Shepherd

  • 60 pound neutered male

  • May need some shots and preventatives before you take him home - the shelter can help with this!

  • Came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 11/8/24 as a stray

  • absolutely gorgeous, truly a stunner!

  • with his velvety soft, onyx fur, he truly embodies his name

  •  super sweet and affectionate, will happily cuddle and snuggle all day

  • low energy level, so the perfect couch companion

  • a new tripod, but is learning to get around and adapting very well

  • loves treats and people, especially when he's getting pets!

  •  super attentive to his person and bonds easily with them

  • very smart and eager to please

  • good on leash and shows strong signs of potty training

  •  may be best as an only dog and king of the household - can be selective with other pups

More about this rescue

United Hope for Animals is a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to creating a world where our relationship with animals is guided by compassion and responsibility. We actively work toward bringing an end to the needless suffering of companion animals through community-based programs here at home and across the border.

The United States euthanizes more than one million dogs and cats each year. Through our Shelter Support Program, we work in partnership with local shelters to reduce this number by raising public awareness about shelter adoption and facilitating rescue and adoption of sheltered animals. In the process, we bring dignity and hope to the many lives that would otherwise pass anonymously through the animal control system.
