My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

#A5663486 Meet Choco ! This 10-month-old German Shepherd mix is as graceful as they come, with an elegant prance that’ll melt your heart. Choco is a super friendly and happy boy who’s very attentive to his handler and responds well to corrections. He even knows commands in Spanish, which just adds to his charm! Though he’s a German Shepherd mix, he’s on the petite side, making him perfect for a variety of living situations. With a medium energy level, he’s great for both outdoor adventures and snuggles on the couch. Choco has been wonderful with all the dogs he’s met, so he could make a great pet sibling, and with a bit more training, he’ll be an even more amazing companion. Come scoop up this sweet treat today!

  • 10 month old black and tan German Shepherd mix

  • 30 pound neutered male

  • Up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today!

  • Came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 11/13/24 as an owner surrender, but we have no notes, so we have no idea why, as Choco truly lives up to his name - he’s such a sweetheart!

  • Has a graceful physicality - elegant, with a tendency to prance around

  • such a friendly, happy boy!

  • attentive to handler and responds nicely to corrections, plus even has training in Spanish

  • petite boy, especially given the breed, so perfect for a wide variety of living situations

  • medium energy level, good for both outdoor fun and indoor cuddles

  • has been pleasant and appropriate with all the dogs he's met, so he could make a good pet sibling to the right match

  • would do exceptionally well with additional training, both in terms of basics and leash work

More about this rescue

United Hope for Animals is a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to creating a world where our relationship with animals is guided by compassion and responsibility. We actively work toward bringing an end to the needless suffering of companion animals through community-based programs here at home and across the border.

The United States euthanizes more than one million dogs and cats each year. Through our Shelter Support Program, we work in partnership with local shelters to reduce this number by raising public awareness about shelter adoption and facilitating rescue and adoption of sheltered animals. In the process, we bring dignity and hope to the many lives that would otherwise pass anonymously through the animal control system.
