My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Sweden was brought in by a community member.

At SDHS:
Sweden has been vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and is now ready for his new home!

Why Sweden might be the one for you:
Sweden is a handsome guy with his shiny grey/silver coat and soft flopped down little ears. He has a bright white pendulum marking on his neck and chest, like he is wearing a fancy piece of jewelry.. He is a friendly dog but is better if he is the only dog in the household. He is fine with meeting other dogs when he is out and about but he wants to be the solo dog at home. He takes his time getting to know his people and his surroundings. He will thrive best with patient and understanding humans. He responds well to baby talk and hopes his humans know how to speak baby talk. He will want access to safe outdoor space, to be taken on many walks a day and not left alone for too long. Want Sweden by your side? If so, come to our shelter to meet Sweden who is not from Sweden but probably from good ole San Diego.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
