Franklin very high energy boy who has lived with a military family since he was a puppy. He also has experience as a service dog and is very task oriented. Franklin is very friendly, but likes to sing the song of his people at high volume, which can be intimidating. He knows sit, stay, quiet, all the way down and leave it and understands these commands in English, Spanish and Sign Language. Franklin will need consistent and ongoing training to keep his skills sharp, as well as, regular enrichment to keep him from getting bored ( example: puzzle toys, snuffle mats, Kong`s and tough toys). He is a very smart boy and catches on quick. Very treat motivated, which will help with training. He would also benefit from having a job to do and learning new tasks. Franklin was house broken and crate trained when he came to us and will let you know when he needs to go out, but may need a refresher due to being in a shelter setting. He loves to go on walks and run. Does best with a harness when walking. He also likes and does well on care rides. Franklin has done well with kids ages 5+ years old and other dogs, but will need a proper introduction. If you have other dogs or kids at home, please bring them in for a meet and greet. He has been known to chase cats. Franklin is not a fan of getting his nails trimmed.
