My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dillinger, affectionately known as Dilly or Dilly Bean! This sweet and shy boy is looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can thrive at his own pace. Here's a little about him:

-Great with Dogs: Dilly gets along well with his foster dog siblings but may guard his food around other dogs. Feeding him separately is the best way to ensure harmony.
- Cat Approved: He's okay with feline friends!
- House Habits: Dilly stays in a spare room when left alone and is content napping on the couch. He sleeps in his room overnight without any issues. Though he doesn’t use a crate, he would likely adapt if needed.
- Leash Learning: While he's still figuring out how to walk on a leash, he's making progress!
- Shy but Loving: Dilly is initially skittish and takes time to warm up. Once he feels safe, he shows his goofy, loving side with full-body wiggles and requests for pets. He might bark at new people at first but settles down as they do.
- Playful Spirit: This pup loves toys—especially rubber bones—and will happily entertain himself with just about anything fun.
- Potty-Pad Trained: Dilly is fully potty pad trained and has never had an accident outside of a potty pad. He's also started going outside with supervision and encouragement.

What Dilly Needs:
- A quiet, patient household where he can come out of his shell at his own pace.
- A fenced yard to keep him safe would be best, as he can be a flight risk.
- A confident dog sibling to help him build trust and confidence (just remember to feed them separately).

Dilly may not know commands yet, but he responds to his name and has the cutest underbite and facial expressions that will melt your heart. With love, patience, and time, Dilly is sure to blossom into an amazing companion. Are you ready to help this shy but charming boy shine?

Adopting from HEA

FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS:
Adoption is a huge deal to us. We make a lifetime guarantee to our companions. In return, we’re asking you to provide a lifetime commitment once you’ve invited a pet to join your family. We’re excited that you're considering adoption. We look forward to working with you to find the right match!

TIMELINE:
Our primary objective is to assure the correct match for the people and the pets that we’re sending to their forever homes. Our goal is to send dogs and cats home as quickly as we can, while still being thorough. Processing times will vary and are largely dependent on our ability to connect with your references, landlord, and veterinarian. To keep the process moving along, please make sure you’ve done your part:
1) Fill out your application completely - missing information slows down the process.
2) Let your references know to expect our call.
3) If you rent, let your landlord know to expect our call.
4) If you currently have pets, ask your veterinarian to be prepared to release your records.

LIFETIME GUARANTEE:
We make a pact with every animal that enters our care: They’re promised a loving home for the rest of their life. In turn, when you make the commitment to adopt, we ask you to make a lifetime commitment. We believe family is forever.
