My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 12 years
Weight: 4.9 kg

Say hello to Mittens, a sweet senior kitty who came to the shelter after his owner passed away. Mittens would make a wonderful companion for those seeking a snuggly, affectionate, chatty, and well-behaved cat! As an older boy, a calm family with lots of time to make sure he`s spoiled the way he deserves would be the best fit for him. It`s unknown how Mittens would do with other animals or young children, so all introductions should be done slowly and with adult supervision! Mittens is ready to be your new best friend, so come visit him today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
