My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Talk about a dog with the personality that you don't come across often. Max is so special, he's one in a million and he's a show stopper with those handsome good looks of his. I hope you have plenty of picture storage on your phone, you're going to need it! I wouldn't be surprised if you even get stopped by strangers telling you how handsome he is. He's not just good looks though, he has a personality to match that is incomparable to any other dog you have met. One of the cutest things about Max are his goofy mannerisms. He loves to toss toys in the air like he's air bud, hops like a bunny when he's running around or get excited and loves turn into a limp noodle and slide on and off the couch like it's a game. He is a natural born entertainer that also loves affection and snuggles. By having Max in your life, you will forever have a permeant smile on your face.

Watch his video and you'll see why he's one in a million:

Meet Max, a 52-pound shepherd mix who’s about a year old and full-grown. Like any rescue dog, his past is a bit of a mystery, but one thing is certain—adopting Max will fill your life with love, snuggles, and adventure.

Max is the ultimate snuggle buddy. He firmly believes he’s a lap dog and will gently nuzzle his way onto your lap, gazing up at you with his big brown eyes. He doesn’t care if you’ve been in his life forever or if you just met—he bonds instantly and showers affection on everyone he meets. Max is the kind of dog who’ll happily join you at coffee shops, patios, or other dog-friendly spots, winning over strangers with tail wags and kisses.

Beyond being a cuddle champ, Max loves a good adventure. He enjoys exploring trails, taking in new scents, and being in the great outdoors. His leash manners are excellent, and while he may pull occasionally to say hi to a new human or dog, a quick correction is all it takes. Max’s foster mom says he already has great recall and stays close to his people, making him a candidate for off-leash training with the right setup. He thrives on learning and is eager to please, making him a quick study for new tricks.

Max is crate-trained, potty-trained, and has impeccable house manners. He can entertain himself with toys, tossing them in the air or nibbling on a stuffed animal. Occasionally, he might mistake a shoe for a toy, but he’s quick to trade it for the real thing when corrected. Whether you work long hours or from home, Max is a great fit—he’s patient in his crate for extended periods but would also love lounging nearby during your workday.

With balanced energy, Max is the best of both worlds. He loves playtime in the backyard, games of fetch, and socializing with other dogs, but he’s just as content relaxing on the couch or napping on his bed. Despite still having some puppy energy, Max’s laid-back demeanor makes him suitable even for apartment living.

Max is incredibly dog-friendly and currently lives with three other dogs in his foster home. He matches playstyles effortlessly, whether it’s a game of chase, a wrestling match, or a round of tug-of-war. He respects dogs that prefer not to play and adjusts his energy accordingly. While Max doesn’t need another dog to be happy, he’d thrive in a home with a playful companion.

If you’re ready for a loyal, affectionate, and fun-loving companion, Max is the perfect match. Let us know how we can help make Max part of your family—we’re happy to answer questions or arrange any tests to ensure he’s the perfect fit for you!

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.

Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!

Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
