Bosco may be a bit unsure of the world right now, but beneath her timid exterior lies a sweet and gentle pup waiting to share her love. Adjusting to shelter life has been overwhelming for her.
Bosco can be shy and avoidant at first, but with patience and kindness, she’s beginning to show her curious side. She’s incredibly tolerant and allows handling even when she’s feeling scared. Bosco doesn’t yet understand the joy of toys or treats, but with time in a calm, loving home, she’ll gain confidence and discover the simple pleasures of being a beloved pet.
If you’re looking for a quiet, tender-hearted dog who just needs someone to believe in her, Bosco is ready to start her journey toward trust and love—one gentle step at a time.
Eligible for rescue, experienced foster, and adoption. Meet Bosco at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering her.

KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Bosco is being housed in a sidebank kennel currently due to space. In kennel she was curled up, watching with wide eyes. She sat up when the handler reached in with the leash, and avoided eye contact while the handler leashed her.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally, fearful walking through kennels
HANDLING :
In the room Bosco was very avoidant, and did her best to get far away from both handlers. She trembled hard when approached, and tried to avoid all eye contact. She was very tense, with a trembling body and lifted her paw when reached for. Whenever touched she would tuck her tail tighter and lip lick, very fearful and avoidant. For how scared she was, she was very tolerant, and tolerated pets and handling. While she was tense, it did not seem directed at the handler, and was more related to just being terrified of her new environment in general. Bosco tolerated all handling, and was just very fearful and scared. She did not show interest in toys, and sniffed at treats but did not eat any. Overall Bosco is very scared and needs time to open up.

Medical notes
01/08/2025 medical staff noted: When approaching kennel, pt was tense, whale eyeing, and shaking from fear. I opened the kennel door and sat on the edge trying to offer pt treats. Pt approached my with curiosity but then backed away while he was shaking with tail tucked and whale eyeing. No growling. Pt appears to be very fearful and needs time to gain trust.
