WALNUT NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:  Walnut        Best Guess for Breed:  Lab mix

Best Guess for Age:   1 year as of January 2025      SEX:    Male

Approximate Weight:  40 lbs

Gets Along With:    Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested if you have them.

Currently Living at:   Texas shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here

Walnut is Looking For:   His forever home! This sweetie landed in the shelter through no fault of his own. He's firmly closed that chapter and is eager to get his new one. The one where he gets his own humans. Where he gets to go on long sniffy walks in the neighborhood, meeting new pup and people pals - and explore the rest of the world! He has all that awesome young-dog energy and needs plenty of opportunities to burn that off. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on his wish list as well, and he wouldn't refuse to try puppacinos and other tasty treats either.

But you know what he wants most of all? To be safe and loved for all his days. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship. What do you say? Does that sound like a good trade to you?

What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
