Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Geno is a sweet and affectionate 4-year-old with a big heart and a playful attitude! He’s shown himself to be a true people-pleaser who just wants to share his love.
Geno favorite thing is spending time with his people. He loves leaning in for pets, gently taking treats, and even curling up in your lap for some serious snuggle time. His sleepy blinks while being held will melt your heart!
This social boy gets excited when he sees other dogs, sometimes letting out an excited “scream,” but once he says hi, he’s calm and playful. Geno has been a star in helping more nervous dogs feel at ease during playtime. He approaches life with a mix of curiosity and chill vibes.
Geno can be vocal and a bit anxious at times, so an experienced foster or adopter who can provide a consistent, loving environment will help him thrive. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful companion with a heart full of love, Geno is ready to bring endless joy into your life.

KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Geno was easy to leash in kennel. He came forward with soft eyes and mid level wags. He came right out once secured.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally
HANDLING :
Geno was very sweet and affectionate in the room with us. We gave him some playtime with another dog at first, to help him get some energy out. He would scream when seeing dogs initially, but calms down quickly once he gets to say hi and is very playful! Once the other dog left he was affectionate and sweet with us, soliciting and leaning in lots. Geno allowed all handling with no issues, and enjoyed getting all the attention! He was super gentle with treats. He even allowed the handler to put him in her lap, and leaned in with sleepy blinks, happy to be held and loved on. Even though he has some anxiety at times, when he is calm he is a very affectionate, chill dog!
PLAY:
Engages in play, got a little scared by big movements
TOYS:
Interest but no possession
01/07/25 staff noted: We had Geno out for multiple dog meets today and he did SO well! We even used him to help socialize a reactive puppy who liked to bark in other dogs' faces. Geno was completely nonreactive and would ignore the puppy whenever he got reactive. He was a perfect gentleman the entire time!
01/7/25 staff notes: The officers that picked him up described him as “pretty pleasant” during their time with him.
Medical notes:
Per exam on 1/7 Doctor noted: “Visited cageside. Patient whines and jumps up on cage, appears stressed. FAS in shelter environment. Started on medication.”
Per staff on 1/7: “Bright, alert, responsive, very stressed and screeching. Mouth/Teeth/Gums - very light staining, moist pink gums. Healing/scabbed cut under OD. Eyes and Ears are red, right ear is dirty.
