My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Theodore…or just Teddy for short. This adorable boy is about 9 weeks old and looks to be a Border Collie mix. Teddy and his sister were found abandoned in a rural area on New Year’s Eve. But, thanks to a whole team effort, his new year is now off to a great start in a foster home safe from the cold and snowy weather.

Teddy currently weighs about 8 pounds, will soon be up to date on his puppy vaccinations and he is microchipped.

As just a baby, Teddy is doing really great with working on his potty training with puppy pads and following his foster sibling out into the yard. Teddy loves to stay very close to his people, plays with his toys and he LOVES meal time. Teddy will require age-appropriate training as he grows.

The Heart of America Humane Society is accepting applications for Teddy.

More about this rescue

The Heart of America Humane Society is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization helping to place shelter and foster animals into permanent homes in and around the greater Kansas City metro area.

Our goal is to save and improve the lives of Kansas City's homeless companion animals by promoting responsible pet ownership. The Heart of America Humane Society (HAHS) partners with the Lee's Summit Animal Shelter (Lee's Summit MO) and KCK Animal Services (Kansas City KS) to increase pet adoptions into responsible, permanent homes.

Background
Our organization does not have a permanent facility or paid staff, so many of our adoptions take place at PetSmart stores and occasionally through other event venues. Some events raise awareness and bring in donations for our animal support efforts, while others help acknowledge and show appreciation for our own volunteers (who perform all duties outside of their regular jobs). Visit our website to learn more about us at heartofamericahs.org.
