Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hey there! I’m Limbo, your friendly Southern gentleman with a heart full of love and a nose that’s always on the case! I may have started my journey in Myrtle Beach, but now I’m ready to find my forever home right here in New York!
I’m the perfect blend of lab loyalty and hound goofiness. I’m house-trained, and while I enjoy my moments of relaxation on the couch (bonus points if you’re there to cuddle!), I’m also an active boy who loves to play. Whether it’s hiking, fetching, or making new furry friends at doggie daycare, I’m always up for some fun!
I get along fabulously with people of all ages, though I do have a knack for getting a bit excited from time to time. I’m a quick learner, though, and I’m working on my jumping skills—no more jumping, just happy tail wags!
When we go for walks, I prefer my harness, as I walk nicely on it. I can be a bit of a puller with a collar, but I’m learning!
I’m also a bit of an investigator—think of me as your personal “Inspector Limbo!” If you leave something on the counter or pack a bag for a trip, you can bet I’ll be right there, checking it out to see if it’s for me. My curiosity knows no bounds!
I’m funny, sweet, and just looking for someone to share my adventures with. If you’re ready for a loyal companion who will keep you entertained and loved, I’m your guy!
Let’s make some wonderful memories together! 💙

More about this rescue
We are a small group of ordinary people who believe that animals, as living creatures, are entitled to a quality life, with respect and compassion. Since humans are responsible for having domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical obligation to care for those animals. We want to instill in our community an awareness of all the animals whose lives we share, to promote and encourage responsible pet ownership and to stress the importance of spaying/neutering all companion animals.
Our Mission is to enrich the lives of our animal friends who may be without shelter, food, care or love. We commit to help these needy, regardless of age, natural beauty or condition. Northstar has provided private rescue service for injured, abandoned, and stray animals. If their owners cannot be found, we immunize, spay/neuter, provide heartworm test,(leukemia/aids test for cats and kitten), and provide medical treatment, food and shelter as needed until such time that the animals are ready for adoption.
Our group functions by fostering animals in our homes. By providing a home environment, we can learn about our fosters and hopefully better match each of them with a good family. We work to make the transition from foster home to permanent home as smooth as possible for both the foster animal and the adoptor. If you would like to join us in this effort please contact us.
