Meet Bright Eyes!
Bright Eyes is eager to find a foster or forever home! Rescued from a farm in Wendell, ID, she is one of nine puppies. Six were trapped on January 5, 2024, including Bright Eyes, Melvin, Blackie, Larry, Glenda, and Bliss. Their mom is an all-white husky, and their dad is unknown, possibly a German Shepherd.

Adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, all current vaccinations, and a starter kit of supplies (subject to availability).

About Shepskies (Shepherd-Husky Mix)
Shepskies are a blend of German Shepherd and Siberian Husky traits, making them intelligent, loyal, and playful companions.

Family Compatibility: They are great family dogs when properly trained and socialized. Always supervise interactions between dogs and young children.
Training: As working dogs, Shepskies need a firm, consistent leader to manage their occasional stubbornness.
Size: Typically 20–25 inches tall and 45–88 pounds.
Personality & Care
Shepskies are active and energetic, requiring plenty of exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation. Without sufficient activity or companionship, they may develop separation anxiety or destructive behaviors.

Socialization: Introduce them early to other pets and people. Huskies may exhibit a strong prey drive, so supervise them around smaller animals.
Grooming: Brush their coat regularly, clean eyes and ears as needed, and trim nails monthly. Check ears weekly for redness or odor, which can indicate infection.
Shepskies love outdoor adventures but thrive indoors with their families. Their vocal nature, especially when bored or left alone, is inherited from the Husky side.

We require a foster or adoption application to qualify to foster or adopt our animals. We do check your current veterinary reference and landlord approval if renting. The next step is a "meet and greet" with all family members and/or household occupants, and current pets. Upon approval, we offer a "trial adoption" period that allows adopter to make sure of a good fit for both the dog and family. Adoption is final when adoption contract (different from application) is filled out and signed, and adoption fee is paid. Our adoption fees range from $75 - $300 (puppies) currently, but are subject to revision if our veterinary costs rise.

Friends Furever Animal Rescue (FFAR) is a passionate, all-volunteer, non-profit animal rescue organization located in Southern Idaho. Our mission is to combat the challenges of pet overpopulation, abuse, and neglect within our community by providing essential support, including food, shelter, veterinary care, and rehabilitation to animals in need.
